WHAT WE CAN BUILD TOGETHER

"We move the needle when we recognize the strengths and potential within our city, seeing underutilized assets and communication channels as opportunities for growth. Government can be a partner in empowering the community—ensuring individuals with diverse perspectives not only have a seat at the table where decisions are made, but confirming their voices are heard and valued."
TRANSFORMING IDEAS INTO ACTION
Building a Unified Community Vision

Crystal Lake thrives when its key entities—such as the city government, Main Street Crystal Lake, the Chamber of Commerce, the Park District, McHenry County College, local businesses, Districts 47 and 155, and civic groups—collaborate and innovate together. As a city council member, I will focus on strengthening communication and partnership among these multifaceted stakeholders to keep our community vibrant and well-connected.

With open dialogue between city officials, business leaders, and residents, we can align efforts, share resources, and ensure a transparent decision-making process. My goal is to create clear and consistent pathways for a wide variety of residents and local organizations to engage with the city, voice their hopes, and join forces toward a shared vision for Crystal Lake’s future.

Supporting Our Local Economy

As a realtor with deep ties to downtown Crystal Lake, I am dedicated to championing policies that empower local businesses to thrive. By supporting small businesses, encouraging responsible development, and fostering a vibrant downtown with strong connections to our business corridors, I will advocate for a dynamic economy that creates jobs, strengthens our community, and drives sustainable growth.

As a longtime university faculty member working with adult professionals, I understand the importance of continuous education and training to stay at the forefront of innovation.

I also believe in showcasing the diversity of businesses in Crystal Lake through our city marketing efforts, attracting both visitors eager to explore our downtown and businesses looking to grow in our community.

Inclusive Housing Approach

Ensuring Crystal Lake is an affordable and welcoming community for all is essential to our long-term success. As a city council member, I will advocate for open discussions on inclusive housing requirements in new development projects, particularly for city-owned land. By exploring equitable policies that encourage a mix of housing options, we can support young professionals, families, and seniors who want to live and thrive in Crystal Lake.

My focus is creating a balanced approach that fosters responsible growth while maintaining the character of our community. Through collaboration with residents, developers, commissions, and local organizations, I will work to ensure that affordability remains a key part of our city’s development strategy.

Entertainment, Culture, and Recreation

Crystal Lake is a true gem of Chicagoland, blending entertainment, culture, and recreation into a vibrant community experience. Whether it’s the energy of The Dole’s Lakeside Festival, the charm of Johnny Appleseed Fest, the laughter echoing through comedy nights at the Raue, or the serenity of sunset concerts at Main Beach, Crystal Lake brings people together to create lasting memories.

As a council member, I’m committed to exploring new opportunities to strategically expand our cultural, recreational, and entertainment offerings. My goal is to ensure Crystal Lake remains not just a "good place to live," but a destination that draws both residents and visitors alike.
